[Current status of the NGO Fund in Bulgaria]

Up to April 2010, 55 projects funded by the NGO Fund, administered by FLGR in partnership with BEPF, are implementing with approximately 1 209 156 euro disposable funds, while 8 projects are already completed (5 from priority area 3 and 3 from priority area 2).

The distribution of ongoing projects and transferred funds between priority areas goes as follow:

>> Priority area 1: Protection of the environment and promotion of sustainable development: 15 ongoing projects and 439 798 euro transferred funds to the funded organizations;

>> Priority area 2: Provision and development of social services, such as in health and childcare: 21 ongoing projects and 451 838 euro transferred funds;

>> Priority area 3: Development of civil society and protection of human rights: 19 ongoing projects and 317 520 euro transferred funds.

[Еcо b2b conference]

FLGR is a co-organizer of the International Congress & Exhibition for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Sources covering the Region of South East Europe, 3-5 June 2010, Sofia, Bulgaria. Organizer of the event is Via Expo.

The international b2b forum will give the floor to exchange of innovative practices and development of successful public-private partnerships. The event focus country will be the Netherlands. There will be a Collective participation of Dutch companies realized with the partnership of the Economic Department to the Embassy of the Netherlands in Bulgaria, the Netherlands Water Partnership and the Netherlands Waste Management Partnership.

Presenters from Austria, Bulgaria, Belgium, Great Britain, Greece, Spain, Norway, the Netherlands and Finland will share their expert experience and good practices in the field of energy efficiency, management of water resources, waste management.

The Exhibition participants will have the opportunity to meet and network with business executives, investors, representatives of local and regional authorities, decision makers in the field of investment policy, project developers, academics, specialists in all industry branches.

[DLC on Anti-corruption, 14 April - 2 June 2010]

Foundation for Local Government Reform carries out Distance learning course (DLC) "Prevention of the Corruption on Local Level", developed in accordance of the Methodology of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT). The course will also introduce anti-corruption measures in the field of public procurement at local level.

The online training course consists of six lectures in Bulgaria and Final Test. It takes place in the following time schedule: 14 April - 2 June 2010.

The course graduates will receive a Certificate by FLGR.

[Innovative Practices 2010]

In 2010 FLGR for twelfth year gathers and disseminates good practices of Bulgarian municipalities and their socio-economic partners.

The new practices become part of the online database of innovative practices of Bulgarian municipalities and participate the National Competition "Innovative Municipality".

Online database of innovative practices of Bulgarian municipalities is part of the FLGR website and consists of more than 1.000 practices.

Every week in e-Weekly of FLGR (11 400 subscribers) the practice that was most voted for during the previous week is published as "Practice of the week".

Since 2002 FLGR conducts Innovative Practices competitions on different topics and awards its Annual Innovative Municipality Award to municipalities that shared the biggest number of innovative practices within the current year.
