In the town of Veliko Tarnovo (for North Bulgaria - on 9 July) and in the town of Plovdiv (for South Bulgaria - on 10 of July 2009) FLGR held 2 Closing Conferences of the project NGOs - Reliable Partners For Development. The Conferences were entitled "Citizen society without citizens? How to bind personal and community interest?"

The goal of the conferences was to provoke discussion on the frame of the civic society in Bulgaria and the role of the NGOs and the local governments in its building at local level. In the first parts of the meetings the analysis of the state of the NGO sector in Bulgaria. The second parts of the fora were dedicated to the good practices of cooperation between NGOs and local governments.

In the vivid discussion the participants formulated recommendations how to develop the civic society through connecting personal and community interest.

Conferences were held in the framework of "NGOs - Reliable Partners For Development" Project financed under Operational Program "Administrative Capacity" by European Social Fund.
