Background
Association “Rhdope Mountain – XXI century”has implemented projects connected with resocialization of children with behavior deviations since 2001.
Practice
Project’s goals were: to create an opportunity for individual work with 41 children (16 of them had already achieved change in their behavior, 12 had antisocial behavior, 8 suffered violence and 5 of these 41 children had mental disorders); to occupy their free time with activities which develop different helpful skills and ability to communicate and work with parents during Sunday seminars “Parents, community and right” and in the created Consultancy bureau.
Within the project were organized: atheatre studio, applied arts, a literature circle, a police academyand psychological help. In order to create a safer family environment for children we organized Sunday seminars “Parents, community and right” and a Consultancy bureau was opened. The total number of consultations, made by all specialists engaged in the bureau, is 273.
Partners of this project were:Regional Directorates "Police" – Smolyan, Local Commission against Anti-social behavior of minors, Community center “Orpheus Forests”, Regional court и Regional Prosecutor’s Office - Smolyan. The applied methods were also used in the project for Work map for prevention of minors’ anti-social behavior and violence against children in Smolyan Municipality, which was worked out by Association’ s team.
Results
As an indicator for positive results we report the following: there is no child to commit an antisocial act or visit theoffice of Child Pedagogic room; eighteen girls and nine boys continue the rehearsals of a new play at the Community center “Orpheus Forests”, which remained a permanent activity in the Community center; two girls and three boys had desire to prepare the scenography for the new play.
