PAZARDJIK, BULGARIA WEST BEND, WI PARTNERSHIP

I. Introduction

In order to implement the activities in the Memorandum of Understanding, the Municipality of Pazardjik, Bulgaria and the City of West Bend, Wisconsin have agreed to the following double anchor strategy. It will serve as the framework for the on-going relationship between the two partner cities. The Action Plan specifies the short-term goals for cooperation between the resource cities, which can be successfully accomplished within the next 13 months in the primary areas of cooperation. It also lays out the long-term goals, which will get accomplished after the current USAID supported program is completed.

The partnership has defined its primary and secondary areas of cooperation as follows:

TECHNICAL PROJECT #2: Develop a Request For Proposal for the redevelopment of Ostrova Park

Goal:

Short Term: To develop a Request for Proposal (RFP) by the end of 2001.

Long Term: Redevelopment of Ostrova Park for recreational purposes.

Long Term: Improve the accessibility and availability of spatial information in support of the decision making process.
