The Foundation for Local Government Reform conducts in June and July 2006 information campaign in 6 Bulgarian regions on Development Opportunities in Rural Areas in Bulgaria: EU Policy and Application of Leader Approach. The information campaign is part of implementing Rural Network and Leader Project, implemented jointly by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forests, UNDP and FLGR.

Major goal of the campaign is to present new dimensions and opportunities for rural development that are set in the common EU policy and the National Strategic Plan for Rural Development in Bulgaria 2007 2013. Participants got acquainted with Leader approach for encouraging sustainable rural development and with local initiative group and its activity and practice.

In the campaign took part over 200 people local government officials and local NGO representatives.
