On February 29, 2008 in the town of Smolyan Foundation for Local Government Reform delivered a press conference where the official start of its recently approved project "NGOs - Reliable Partners for Development" was announced.
The duration of the project is 18 months (February 2008 – July 2009) and it will take place in South Central planning region (the districts of Smolyan, Pazardzhik, Stara Zagora, Haskovo and Kardzhali).
The goal of the project is to strengthen the capacity of the NGO sector in South Central planning region to develop and implement local and regional policies in partnership with the public administration.
