Building up of network of trained HIV+ consultants with skills in advising HIV+ patients, their partners, relatives, and their families in Vidin, Stara Zagora, Ruse, Targovishte, Haskovo, Harmanli, Plovdiv, Dragoman, Dimitrovgrad and Sofia.

The project idea was generated by the preparation of 4 project proposals with target group children in school age under Human Resource Development Program, scheme “To make the school attractive for the young people” in which Knowledge was a partner organization. During the discussions about the proposals the experts shared their opinions that the lack of initiatives for children is the most significant problem for this target group.

Project of the month, March 2009, “Tulip” Foundation
 
The goal of the project was the establishment of a Centre for social rehabilitation and integration of handicapped people which offers a complex of social services – social and legal consultancy; educational and professional training and orientation; preparation and realization of individual programmes for social integration of handicapped people. The project included also the renovation of a building, which was placed at association’s disposal by the Municipality of Pazardjik, as well as its furnishing and staff training.

The English investor Solas Newa Ltd. announced a competition called “Bonny village” for financing ideas in the Municipality of Straldja and that carried the mayors away into a race for proving their abilities to transform the villages. The Municipality supported the projects with 500 leva for every village.

The project was orientated towards students, teachers, parents and representatives of institutions. The main group consisted of sixteen youths but during project implementation more of their classmates, parents and teachersjoined to this group. 1400 spectators also became   adherents of the  appeal for nonviolence at schools. The youth parliament in the city of Dimitrovgrad was trained after the method “peer education”. The mayor of Topolovgrad supported financially the meeting between the Group for nonviolence and the youth association “Just friends”, with whom we continue the joint initiatives.The mayor of Dimitrovgrad also supported the project through arranging a meeting with youths and representatives of institutions and distribution of posters and appeals for nonviolence.

The main project goals ware the preservation of linealmemory through gathering rich material about life, values, traditions and culture of the village of Tsenovo and through organizing an ethnographic collection in the building of community centre “Hristo Botev”; expanding the possibilities for rural tourism; overcoming social isolation of old-aged people through various initiatives and communication between generations.

Project of the month of Foundation “Tulip” – May, 2008
With the realization of the project “With friends on the way to dreams” we fulfilled an effective prevention, resocialization and integration of children at risk, as well as overcoming of social isolation and improving quality of life of children and young people with mental disorders.
